Talk: Creative crossings – DLD07

With Andreas Angelidakis (architect working at the intersection of digital culture and architectural production. Operating for almost 9 years, Angelidakis has realized projects in Sweden, Switzerland, USA and Italy as well as various online communities such as Active Worlds, Adobe Atmosphere and Second Life, often moving elements from one world to the other, mixing real with virtual objects in the casual contemporary way that a teenager uploads pictures on myspace. His clients often include cultural foundations, artists, collectors of contemporary art and online friends.), Miltos Manetas (a artist and the creator of the Neen art movement. He was born in Greece and currently shares his time between Paris and Los Angeles. He received art training in Brera-Milan, Italy.), Hartmut Esslinger (founder of frog design, one of the world's leading strategic-creative consulting firms, and according to BusinessWeek the first superstar of high-tech design.)
Alexander Schill (joined Springer & Jacoby Hamburg in 1994 after studying 4 years at the Highschool of Fine Arts in Berlin.)
Frances Corner (Head of College at London College of Fashion. Prior to this Frances was the Head of the Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design at London Metropolitan University and has worked in senior management of Higher Education Institutions for the past ten years.), Michelle Nicol (art historian and managing partner of advertising agency glamour engineering.)

Jackson Pollock 2.0 (2007)
Inspired by his interactive artwork jacksonpollock.org the artist Manetas invites the participants of the DLD conference to collectively design a participatory 2.0 micro-exhibition in progress: Each participant can create his own Jackson Pollock artwork. In sharing his artistic authorship with the DLD audience, Manetas addresses the relationship between artwork and audience as well as the issue of participation and the idea of community concepts and digital copyright restrictions. Generally in favour of creative commons licensing agreements, Manetas does not abandon his artistic authorship completely: The first 25 prints of Jackson Pollock 2.0. are signed by the artist-but given for free to the public. jacksonpollock.org has been included in the 2006 list of the 50 Top Websites released by the Time Magazine. It is part of a larger web art platform NEEN, which has been founded by Manetas in the year 2000.
